Free Taco Bell up for grabs with World Series 'Steal a Base, Steal a Taco' deal: How to get one

With the World Series starting on Friday, it's time to keep an eye out for free tacos.
As in years past, Taco Bell is coming to the plate with its "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" campaign giving customers free tacos during the fall classic.
The World Series begins Friday night with the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Texas Rangers (8:03 p.m. ET, FOX) in Arlington, Texas. When the first stolen base is recorded in the World Series, Taco Bell will give away a free Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco to all members of its Taco Bell Rewards loyalty program.
In last year's World Series, Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber stole the first base in the seventh inning of Game 1 against the Houston Astros.

How to get your free World Series taco from Taco Bell
To receive the free taco, baseball fans can sign up for Taco Bell Rewards by the start of the World Series or within 10 days after the base is stolen, Taco Bell said.
Once the first base is stolen, rewards members will get an in-app notification to redeem a free Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco (beef, chicken or potato) almost instantly, the fast-food chain said.
The offer appears in the app and expires 10 days after the first base is swiped, even the same night the base is stolen. You can also try to predict who will steal the first base and if you are correct, you also get a free medium drink (must get your prediction in the app by end of the day Thursday).
Some possible stolen base candidates if you are trying to predict who will steal the first base:
- Diamondbacks left fielder Corbin Carroll – his 54 stolen bases were third-highest in the league for the regular season – had four stolen bases in the postseason and his speed on the base paths also led to the D-Backs first run in Game 7 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
- D-Backs first baseman Christian Walker also has 4 in the playoffs after nabbing 11 during the regular season.
- Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien and centerfielder Leody Taveras both who had 14 stolen bases in the regular season, but Taveras had four in the postseason, while Semien had none.
- Rangers right fielder and pinch hitter Travis Jankowski had 19 stolen bases during the regular season, but played in just more than half of the Rangers games.
Taco Bell and Major League Baseball started the "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion in 2007 to celebrate the stolen base, which had been on the decline. That year, Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury became the inaugural Taco Hero.
Free 'Taco Bell for Life' promotion with Topps
There's also a Taco Bell for Life award (worth $15,000), which up to five winners can claim if they are holding a certain Topps baseball card of the player who steals the first base or a wild card.
"TacoFractor" cards, which feature a special rainbow design, are in circulation within Topps Chrome and Cosmic Chrome sets. If you snag the lucky card of the first World Series base stealer, you're eligible for the $15,000 digital gift card.
