Guy Fieri talks Super Bowl party, his son's 'quick engagement' and Bobby Flay's texts

Flavortown will play host to a wedding: Guy Fieri’s son Hunter is engaged to pickleball pro Tara Bernstein. Fieri joked he was looking for sponsorships to underwrite the wedding’s cost before he shared his excitement.
“I've never met anybody that reminded me so much of my son as Tara does,” Fieri told USA TODAY. “I mean, I think it's a quick engagement, but the one Hunter has been waiting for his whole life.”The couple met earlier this year at Fieri’s Flavortown Tailgate party. The event will return for a second year on Super Bowl Sunday, this time in Las Vegas, where Fieri attended college at UNLV. Tickets to the event are free and over 10,000 people are expected. In addition to a section of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” restaurant pop ups and Fieri’s trademark trash can nachos, there will be entertainment from Diplo and country singer Dustin Lynch. Pepsi, the event’s presenting sponsor, will offer custom-curated Pepsi cocktails and food pairings.
“You don't find ‘free,’ especially in Vegas, when it surrounds the Super Bowl because everybody's getting paid for everything, including parking,” Fieri said. “This is about celebrating what I think is the greatest game, which is football.”Fieri also happens to be a diehard Las Vegas Raiders fan and has a food outpost in Allegiant Stadium, where the Super Bowl will be held.
“You go in for the football game, you have three hours and it's over,” Fieri said. “So the great thing about tailgating is you get to spend the whole part of the day warming up to the excitement that's going to happen.”Fieri’s passion for food and people has propelled him to become a household name. The entrepreneur just signed a new three-year deal with Food Network. Before the news became public, he heard from a fellow network personality.
“Bobby (Flay) wrote me a text and said, ‘Congratulations man. You work your ass off,’” he revealed. " I said, ‘Man, thank you. Thanks for setting this up for us.’”
